A graduate of SUNY Rockland, Charleen earned an Associate degree in Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1983 and an Associate degree in Applied Science in Occupational Therapy in 2005. Charleen has worked with children in educational and home based settings since 2007. In schools, she has treated children with a wide variety of diagnoses, including learning disabilities and developmental delays. In addition to POTS, Charleen is currently part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team in specialized classrooms designed for students with Autism, which supports, inspires and encourages student success.
An avid student, Charleen has attended numerous continuing education courses, covering topics as diverse as Brain Gym, yoga, nutrition therapy, multi-sensory handwriting, sensory diets, and many sensory strategy workshops. Charleen believes that the most inspiring thing about working with children is seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter, and watching children discover the strength and confidence they need to succeed. Outside of work, Charleen enjoys gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
