(IM) :A computer-based technology that enhances motor planning, sequencing and timing. It can improve learning and motor performance and skills that depend on the ability to plan and sequence actions and ideas. The child performs a variety of coordination exercises to computer-generated musical beats delivered through headphones. Movements are recorded through hand and foot sensors. A dynamic auditory guidance system calibrates difficulty level to on-going performance and progressively challenges him/her to improve motor planning, sequencing and timing. Interactive Metronome® training exercises have been found to improve motor planning and coordination in both children and adults. IM performance has been shown to correlate with academic achievement in areas such as mathematics, language, reading, and attention.
